Google Ads · Both

Make Google Ads bid against real revenue, not pixel fires. Import spend, export conversions, close the loop on every campaign.

Apex's outbound Google Ads Enhanced Conversions integration (on the near-term roadmap) will fire server-to-server conversions from the downstream events that matter: Stripe purchases, HubSpot closed deals, in-app revenue. Smart Bidding learns from cash, not clicks.

What teams use it for

The questions people actually ask.

  • How do I send downstream Apex events to Google Ads so Smart Bidding optimises against real revenue?

Apex's outbound Google Ads Enhanced Conversions integration is on the near-term roadmap. When it ships, qualified conversions will be written to Google Ads with hashed identifiers and full server-side context — so when a Stripe subscription closes or a HubSpot deal moves to Closed Won, Google Ads sees it within seconds with real revenue, not a proxy pixel fire ad blockers ate.

  • Can I push Apex engagement signals to Google Ads as audience exclusions?

Apex builds audiences from any engagement or revenue signal today (e.g., contacts with churn risk > 70, customers on enterprise plans, trialists who activated). Outbound sync of those audiences to Google Customer Match is on the near-term roadmap — talk to us if this is your immediate need so we can prioritise accordingly.

  • Does Apex handle manager accounts (MCCs) with dozens of sub-accounts?

Yes. Apex supports Google Ads MCC hierarchies directly. Connect the manager account once and select which child accounts to sync. Campaign spend, conversions, and audience pushes route to the right account automatically. Common for agencies and PE-portfolio operators running multiple brands.

What flows in

What Apex receives from Google Ads.

From Google Ads

  • Campaign, ad group, and ad-level cost and performance
  • Impressions, clicks, conversions, and conversion values
  • Device, geo, and keyword-level breakdowns
  • GCLID-stamped landing sessions for click-level attribution

What it powers

Where this data shows up.

  • Mobile Measurement

Stitch Google Ads click IDs to mobile installs and in-app conversions without relying on a third-party MMP.

  • Communications

Use Apex engagement signals to inform Google Ads budget decisions and audience exclusions automatically.

  • Intelligence

Server-side conversion uploads fuel Smart Bidding with qualified, de-duplicated events that reflect real revenue.

Setup · OAuth 2.0

Connect Google Ads.

Authorize Google Ads via OAuth, pick the accounts and campaigns you want to sync, and optionally map Apex events to Google conversion actions for server-side upload. Apex handles MCC hierarchies, refresh tokens, and the annoyingly strict Google Ads API quotas on your behalf.

FAQ

Google Ads and Apex, answered.

  • Why are Enhanced Conversions better than the Google Ads pixel?

The Google Ads pixel fires client-side, which means ad blockers, Safari ITP, and third-party cookie restrictions eat a large fraction of conversions. Enhanced Conversions run server-side with hashed first-party identifiers; Google Ads receives nearly 100% of the qualified events Apex sees. Smart Bidding's signal quality improves substantially.

  • What conversions can I push to Google Ads from Apex?

Anything Apex knows about: Stripe subscription starts and upgrades, HubSpot deal stage transitions, in-app revenue events, custom events you track via apex.track(). You map each Apex event to a Google Ads conversion action during setup; Apex handles the server-side upload, dedup, and hashing.

  • How long does it take Google Ads to pick up the new conversion signal?

Conversions arrive in Google Ads within seconds of the event firing in Apex. Smart Bidding typically takes 1-2 weeks of conversion volume to adjust its bidding model, similar to any new conversion action. You can see the new conversions in Google Ads' conversion action report immediately.

  • Do I need Google Ads Enhanced Conversions enabled on my account?

Yes, Enhanced Conversions is a free feature you enable in Google Ads settings. Apex walks you through the setup during the OAuth flow. If you prefer the older Offline Conversion Import method, Apex supports that too.

  • Can Apex send negative audiences to Google Ads?

Audience sync to Google Customer Match (including for use as negative audiences) is on the near-term roadmap. Today you build the audience in Apex and apply it through Google Ads manually; the one-click outbound sync ships in the audience-sync card on our roadmap.

  • Does it work with Performance Max campaigns?

Once Enhanced Conversions ships (near-term roadmap), it will work with Performance Max — Google routes Enhanced Conversions data into PMax bidding the same way as any other Smart Bidding campaign. Audience sync to Customer Match (also roadmap) will likewise plug into PMax asset-group targeting.

  • How often does Apex pull Google Ads spend data?

Every 4 hours on the free tier, every hour on paid tiers, with on-demand refresh available via the dashboard or API. Google Ads API quotas limit how often any tool can pull large accounts; Apex manages the quota windows for you.
